Dr. Michael
Wong
Dr. Michael S. Wong, a board-certified plastic surgeon and fourth-generation Sacramento native, specializes in breast surgery and body contouring, with expertise in patients who have undergone significant weight loss. He earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and his M.D. from Tufts University. He completed his general surgery residency at UC Davis – East Bay, a research fellowship at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and his plastic surgery residency at Duke University.
Dr. Michael S. Wong, a fourth-generation Sacramento native, is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast and body contouring, with a particular expertise in patients who have undergone significant weight loss. He received his bicoastal education with his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of California, Davis – East Bay, a two-year surgical research fellowship at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition Laboratory, and his plastic surgery residency at Duke University.
Dr. Wong served as Director of Post-Weight Loss Body Contouring for over 18 years and Director of the Plastic Surgery Residency Program for over a decade at UC Davis. Professor Emeritus of Surgery at UC Davis, he has been a guest lecturer and visiting professor at numerous plastic surgery meetings and universities in the United States and abroad for over 20 years. He is the author of nearly 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and book chapters. Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Wong is also a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, and is the former president of the California Society of Plastic Surgeons.
He is thrilled to bring his practice back home to Sacramento with Ideal Plastic Surgery, allowing him to care for the community in which he grew up. He also serves as Associate Dean of Academic and Career Advising and Vice President of Clinical Practice at Northstate University of California, as well as National Director of the Prime Aesthetics Group Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship.
