He has published dozens of scientific articles and book chapters, is also a member of the Editorial Board and a reviewer for plastic surgery publications.

Dr. Pirko, originally from Germany and Peru, is fluent in three languages: German, Spanish and English. He brings a variety of international experiences to his profession. He began his career in Plastic Surgery in 2005, training at the University of Chicago.
He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has given more than 100 lectures on plastic surgery both nationally and internationally. He has served as an associate professor at UC Davis for 12 years and continues to provide surgery at Shriners Hospital for Children.
