WHAT IS AN IDEAL BREAST FAT TRANSFER?
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?
PROCEDURE
Fat transfer involves obtaining or harvesting fat cells from one part of the body by liposuction, then the fat is processed, cleansed, and injected into the breast tissue. Fat transfer can be used in primary breast augmentation, or also in people with an existing implant. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia and lasts approximately two to three hours. It is important to note that not all of the fat survives the transfer, so the final result of the volume change will not be evident for several months.
RECOVERY
Patients can expect some discomfort and swelling, normal activity will be restored in two to four days. However, we recommend that you limit your physical activity at first, avoiding heavy exercise or sudden movements for at least three weeks.
RESULTS
The results of the fat transfer will be seen after several months when the swelling is reduced and the fat that survives the transfer has settled. At this point, the breasts will maintain their natural and enhanced shape. It is sometimes necessary to repeat the procedure if more volume is desired after full healing has occured.
COST
The cost of fat transfer to the breasts can vary depending on the individual needs of the patient, but is generally $6,500 – $7,500.
