Does Mini-Face Lift fix problems in the upper face also?
No. Mini Face Lift is designed to offer age-diminishing effects to the lower region of the face. This means neck laxity, cheek ptosis (flattening cheeks), and jowls. If you have concerns regarding your upper face, Dr.Leong can perform yelid Lift for your eye area and Eyebrow Lift for droopy brows.
Who is a good candidate for Mini Face Lift?
Men and women with realistic expectations, who are in good health, and who want to get ahead of the aging process are good candidates.
At what age does Dr. Leong recommend a Mini Face Lift?
There is no standard answer to this question. Dr. Leong will determine if you are a good candidate at the time of the initial consultation. Occasionally, a patient will present with little or no signs of aging and still inquire about the need for a Mini Face Lift. If a patient is too young to get appropriate benefit from this procedure, Dr. Leong will suggest the patient holds off on surgery till a later time. Dr. Leong believes that “If it doesn’t look natural, it doesn’t look good”, and sometimes to achieve that goal, less really is more. Patients deserve to know if surgery is not be the answer to their needs and Dr. Leong will let them know when that’s the case.
What kind of anesthesia is used?
Dr. Leong typically uses local anesthesia and sedation for this procedure. If the patient prefers, general anesthesia can also be used.
Where does Dr. Leong perform the Mini -Face Lift surgery?
It is usually performed in a state-of-the-art, fully equipped and accredited, out-patient surgery center. Accredited out-patient surgery centers are as well equipped as hospital surgery suites and are equally equipped to handle surgery and any situation that may arise. If the patient desires, the surgery can also be performed at several leading local hospitals.
How long will my Mini Face Lift surgery take?
It will only take a couple of hours as it is less invasive than full-blown Face Lift surgery.
How painful will it be?
Dr. Leong’s patients rarely complain of significant pain. They describe mild discomfort which is easily managed by many patients with Tylenol!
What is recovery like after Mini Face Lift surgery?
Some bruising, swelling and numbness are normal. These go away quickly after this surgery because it is minimally invasive, yet offers major results. Many patients have their surgery on Friday and return to work Tuesday or Wednesday the next week. Camouflage make-up very nicely covers any residual bruising.
What about activities after my Mini-Face Lift surgery?
Dr. Leong will ask you to relax over the weekend. You’ll see him in the office for a follow-up appointment and then he will discuss your level of activity with you.
