Who is a good candidate for Fat Transfer?
Any man or woman who is in good health and who has realistic expectations could be a good candidate. They must have a desire to rejuvenate their face by filling in volume to restore a more youthful, healthy appearance.

Where will Dr. Leong perform this procedure?
Dr. Leong will perform your Fat Transfer procedure in a state-of-the-art, out-patient surgery center, or at one of several outstanding Pittsburgh area hospitals where Dr. Leong has admitting privileges to perform facial plastic surgery.

What about anesthetic?
You will be sedated with local anesthetic or IV sedation depending upon the extensiveness of your procedure.

How long will my fat transfer procedure take?
This depends upon the extensiveness of your procedure and whether you are having fat transfer done in combination with another facial rejuvenation procedure.

What about recovery and downtime?
This is a non-invasive procedure so there is little to no downtime – depending upon the number and size of the areas being treated. Some bruising and swelling is normal but resolves in a couple of days. There is little to no discomfort – but post-treatment any discomfort is easily managed with oral medication like Tylenol.

How does fat transfer differ from other injectables?
Fat transfer involves using your bodies own natural fat to plump up areas that need rejuvenation. Body fat, once transferred correctly, can provide very long-lasting results – while other types of fillers are absorbed by the body and achieve only temporary results.

Will insurance pay for my fat transfer procedure?
No. This is considered a cosmetic procedure and insurance does not pay for cosmetic procedures.

Is there any financing available for fat transfer procedures?
Yes – today there are many cosmetic procedures that can be financed with Care Credit financing.
