Questions about Facial Implants:

Can anyone have facial implant surgery?

How painful is facial implant surgery?
Any surgical procedure causes some discomfort. However, Dr. Leong is a facial plastic surgeon who has performed hundreds of these surgeries, he performs them regularly, and he is expertly skilled in each procedure. This enables him to use specialized techniques that help to minimize discomfort – along with the right type of anesthetic.

What is recovery like after facial implant surgery?
Swelling, bruising and discomfort are normal and to be expected. Dr. Leong will instruct you about keeping your head elevated and use of cold packs along with oral medication to easily manage discomfort and to speed healing. These symptoms decrease daily and usually resolve within a few days post-surgery.

How long will I be out of work after facial implant surgery?
Dr. Leong will be able to determine this during your personal consultation before surgery. It depends upon the procedure(s) you choose to have done and how quickly you normally recover from procedures. Dr. Leong uses the most advanced techniques available today – so his patients recover very quickly.

Where will my facial implant surgery be performed?
Dr. Leong will perform your surgery in a state-of-the-art, out-patient surgery center, or at one of several outstanding Pittsburgh area hospitals where Dr. Leong has admitting privileges to perform facial plastic surgery.

Will Insurance pay for my facial implant surgery?
If it is performed strictly as a cosmetic surgery – insurance will not pay for it. You need to check with your insurance company if your surgery is being performed for medical reasons.

Is there any financing available for facial implant surgery?
Yes – today there are many cosmetic procedures that can be financed with Care Credit financing.
