As we age our lips lose their fullness and begin to droop and become thin. The corners of the mouth may sag, while fine lines and wrinkles appear. That voluptuous shape is gone along with the signs of our youth, health and fertility. Dr. Leong recommends lip augmentation to patients who want to turn back the clock and restore a more youthful appearance to their lips. A thinning upper lip often makes you appear angry and/or old – while fine lines, often called “smoker’s lines” appear to make you look even older. Dr. Leong will personally design a treatment plan that will take years off your face and give you back the lips you’ve lost, or perhaps never had.
Materials used today to enhance lips include Hyaluronic Acids such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, Fat Transfer, using your own fat, and alloplastic implants such as Gortex.™
Today’s implants are softer and create a natural look which can be either temporary or permanent. Dr. Leong believes that if it doesn’t look natural, it doesn’t look good, and he’s an expert at achieving the most natural looking results possible.
