Hand Rejuvenation Pittsburgh

Our hands are put forward nearly as much as our faces are – with every handshake. Restoring youthful hands is all about improving texture and replacing lost volume. Thick skin, pigmentation patches, brown and red spots, unsightly veins and tendons, a “bony” appearance and fine lines – all become prominent in aging hands and can occur even in our forties. Much like our faces, our hands show signs of aging from unavoidable sun exposure, loss of fat, collagen, elasticity and heredity. Texture is the first age-related change with spots following close behind. Sun exposure contributes to the pigment changes in our skin.  Dr. Leong understands how important the appearance of our hands is and recommends a combination treatment that includes dermal fillers to restore volume and IPL laser treatments to correct pigmentation and texture problems.

Dermal Fillers for Hand Rejuvenation
Dermal fillers are used to replace volume that is lost over time.  HA (hyaluronic acid) is a component manufactured in our bodies that depletes as we age. Replacing hyaluronic acid is safe and effective in improving volume, texture and in smoothing out fine lines, such as those in the back of our hands. The injected HA then stimulates the production of collagen and elastin so that the skin on the back of our hands look plump and youthful again. Dr. Leong commonly uses HA injections such as Restylane/Perlane and Juvederm Ultra/Ultra Plus to rejuvenate the hands. He also frequently uses Radiesse for the same purpose. Radiesse is a dermal filler that also provides long-term results with volume replacement and reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. During your personal consultation with Dr. Leong, he will determine the best choice for you, since no single “cookie cutter” treatment is right for every patient.

Palomar Laser IPL Treatment for Age Spots
Dr. Leong is committed to providing his patients with the highest quality care possible today – with the end result being the most natural outcome possible. The Palomar high-powered StarLux 500 is the most powerful, yet gentle, laser and pulsed light system available to surgeons today.  Using the Palomar StarLux Intense Pulsed Light option, Dr. Leong is able to effectively treat problems typically related to older skin – brown spots and age spots that appear on sun-exposed areas of the body.  The intense pulsed light treatments rejuvenate the skin of the hands providing a perfect compliment to the increased volume from the dermal fillers.

Be sure to ask about our Heavenly Hands package which combines
