Dr. Leong is pleased to be one of the first practitioners in Pittsburgh to offer DYSPORT. Sometimes referred to as Reloxin, Dysport is the newest neuromuscular blocking agent available in the United States. For patients who have used Botox, DYSPORT offers an alternative with similar results and a reduced cost. It has been used for many years in Canada and Europe and we are excited to offer this choice here in Pittsburgh.
DYSPORT can be used to address all of the same problem areas that have been treated with Botox Cosmetic for years: forehead lines, crowsfeet (lines between the eyes and sideburns), glabellar lines (between the eyebrows). Dr. Leong also has extensive experience in treating lines around the mouth, lines on the side of the nose (bunny lines), and neck bands.
DYSPORT (abobotulinumtoxin A) was initially developed and approved in many markets around the world for the treatment of movement disorders such as cervical dystonia (spasmodic torticollis) and blepharospasm (involuntary eye closure). It was later developed for the treatment of a wide variety of neuromuscular disorders and aesthetic medicine. DYSPORT is an acetylcholine release inhibitor and neuromuscular blocking agent indicated for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines associated with procedures and corrugator muscle activity.
